The Horatio Alger Scholarship: A student could receive up to $20,000 scholarship for college.  Applicant must be enrolled full time as a high school student, a strong to pursuing and completing a bachelor’s degree at an accredited public or private institution in the US, critical financial need, involvement in co-curricular and community activity, and minimum GPA of 2.0, and be a US citizen.  Application Deadline is October 30, 2011.  Apply online at  www.horatioalger.org/scholarships

AXA Achievement Scholarship: offers college scholarships of $10,000 and $25,000 to high school seniors who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in their activities in school, community, or the workplace.  Deadline is December 1, 2011.  Apply online at www.axa-achievement.com

NFIB Young Entrepreneur Award: The NFIB Young Entrepreneur Awards are non-renewable scholarships created to recognize young people who have demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit/initiative valued $1000-$10,000.  Apply at http://www.NFIB.com/YEA  beginning October 1, 2011 through December 15, 2011.

John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest: The contest is open to Unites States high school students in grades nine through twelve attending public, private, parochial, or home school.   Essay must be postmarked by January 7, 2012.  You can sign up and find more information at www. jfklibrary.org

Ray Jones Scholarship: a non-profit fund established in 2009 through Fresno Regional Foundation, provides financial assistance to California Indian students graduating from a Central Valley high school and pursuing a postsecondary degree.  Deadline is March 31, 2012.  Pick up application from the scholarship organizer.

American College Foundation Visionary Scholarship Program: A $1,000-$5,000 scholarship for high school Freshmen-Seniors. Apply Online at www.AmericanCollegeFoundation.org.  Use invitation code to Apply: M3561. Students can pick up a flyer at the scholarship organizer.

2012 Beverage Industry College Scholarship: Qualified California High School Seniors who will attend a 4 year university, who has a parent or grandparent that is employed full time with a company or individual holding a valid California liquor/beer/wine licensees.  Applicants also must have participated in a performing art or athletics in the BOTH 11th and 12th grade and have demonstrated outstanding community citizenship as evidence.  Deadline is February 1, 2012.  Pick up more information at the scholarship organizer.

CAC Educational Scholarship Foundation: Awarded to California High School seniors for their use as full time students at any accredited public or private college, university or trade school.   Entries must be postmarked by January 16, 2012.  Pick up application at the scholarship organizer.
