Younes Benomar Foreign Language Department

     My name is Younes Benomar and I have been part of the Foreign Language Department here at Chowchilla High School District since 2011. My teaching career started prior to that in the Merced Union High School District in 2007.

     I am originally from Casablanca, Morocco (North West of Africa), I lived and studied in my native land until the age of 18 then moved to Granada, Spain to learn Spanish and pursue my Bachelor's degree.  After spending 3 years in the south of Spain I decided to come to the United States, a country that has provided me with all the tools to succeed and become who I am today.  In return, I am teaching young people not only how to speak, write and read Spanish but more importantly how to use language to bridge the gap between cultures.  I attended CSU Stanislaus for my Bachelor of Arts in Spanish.  I later earned a Master’s degree of Education at National University with an emphasis on Teaching and Learning in a Global Society.

     I appreciate having the opportunity to work with young adults as they discover their own passions and talents in all aspects of life and look forward to working with each student as I get to know each on a personal and professional basis. 



 Mi nombre es Younes Benomar y he sido parte del Departamento de Lenguas Extranjeras aquí en Chowchilla Union High School desde 2011. Mi carrera como maestro comenzó anteriormente en Merced Union High School en 2007. 

    Soy originario de Casablanca, Marruecos (noroeste de África), viví y estudié en mi tierra natal hasta la edad de 18 y luego me fui a vivir en Granada, España para aprender español y llevar a cabo mi licenciatura.  Después de pasar 3 años en el sur de España, decidí venir a los Estados Unidos, un país que me ha dado todas las herramientas para tener éxito y llegar a ser lo que soy hoy en día. A cambio, yo estoy enseñando a los jóvenes no sólo la forma de hablar, escribir y leer español pero aún más importante cómo utilizar el idioma para cerrar la brecha entre las culturas. Asistí a CSU Stanislaus para mi licenciatura en español. Y más tarde obtuve una Maestría en Educación de Nacional University, con énfasis en la Enseñanza y el Aprendizaje en una Sociedad Global.  

    Yo agradezco tener la oportunidad de trabajar con mis estudiantes y apoyarles a medida que descubren sus propias pasiones y talentos en todos los aspectos de la vida.
